Terrence Rundle West (Biography)

Former teacher and school administrator Terrence Rundle West began writing historical fiction in 1996. His latest novel, A Time to Disappear (2023), was preceded by, The Methodist Man (2017), Not In My Father’s Footsteps, (2011), Run of the Town, (2006) and Ripe for the Picking, (2004).

West views historical fiction as a powerful tool in introducing readers to the past. A constant in his writing is a desire to provide an exciting story while leaving the reader with an accurate understanding of the period in which it is set.

Spin-offs from his meticulous research have found their way onto his Blog Site (TRWrites) as well as onto the op-ed pages of major newspapers―the Toronto Star, Winnipeg Free Press, Edmonton Journal, and the Ottawa Citizen.

West’s work has received media attention from St. John’s to Victoria. In 2007 he was the recipient of the Northern ‘Lit’ Award.

Raised in Hearst, Northern Ontario, and educated at Carleton University and the University of British Columbia, West now lives in Ottawa with his wife Peggy.
